The golden one / Elizabeth Peters.

Summary:

Despite the German submarines patrolling the Atlantic, the Emerson family--archaeologists Amelia and Radcliffe, their scholar son Ramses, his lovely wife Nefret, and various others in their entourage--sail for Egypt and another season of excavations under the Egyptian sun. After landing, Radcliffe's black-sheep brother Sethos appears on the scene, and they hear rumors that grave robbers have looted one of the royal tombs. Arriving at the site, they discover a corpse, and the family quickly gets to work investigating the unfortunate events. At the same time, British intelligence is once again trying to recruit Ramses for another dangerous mission.
